Finding Your Personal Style

Finding Your Personal Style / Lauren Rose Style / Fashion Blogger London

Having a personal fashion style is something that I used to think I didn't have yet. I thought that it would develop as I grew up, but more recently I have realised that I have always had my own personal style, that is unique to me.

I personally don't limit myself to one particular style. I find that I dress depending on my mood. If I am feeling happy and confident, maybe I will wear something colourful or I will put together a more daring outfit. If I wake up grumpy or I am struggling to get out of bed that day (always Monday's), I will probably wear all black since my brain is really not in the mood to choose anything more exciting to wear.

I wrote a post a few years ago about how I didn't feel like I had my own personal style. I now know that I clearly do, we all do. I wear what I like. We all wear what we like, depending on our mood, the occasion, the weather and it will always be unique to each and every one of us.

I am sure that we all take inspiration from other people, be it friends, bloggers, celebrities or your style idol's but your wardrobe is always going to be unique to you and the way you wear a piece, will be different to everybody else.

I have realised that you don't have to find what your personal style is, because you already have it. It is the essence of who you are. It is important to always wear what you like, what makes you feel confident or happy and always dress for yourself ladies.

I want to share with you where I personally find style inspiration. I think where you find fashion inspiration is also a representation of who you are. Your tastes, interests and inspiration's are always going to be individual to you. I personally favour bloggers that wear more every-day wearable high street fashion, with the odd designer piece thrown in for aspirational purposes (obv). So here are a few bloggers and fashion icons that inspire my everyday style.

Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung always has and always will be my main style muse. I even have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to her if you want a browse here. She looks incredibly effortless in everything she wears.

Happy Sunday!!

A couple of weekend's ago I took a trip with friends to Columbia Road Flower Market in East London, which is by far my favourite way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The sun was shining, the market was bustling and people were happily wandering through deciding what beautiful bunches of flowers they were going to buy to take home with them. It was bloody lovely.

I picked out two different shades of roses that went wonderfully well together in a big bouquet and they still looked lovely sitting on my windowsill over a week later, so I was very happy about that! My friends both picked up some amazing orchids for just £8, which they were equally happy about. I really wanted to get a big plant that I can have in my room, but the carrying it on the tube for an hour back to my flat definitely put me off that idea a bit - maybe next time.

I wanted to put this post together as a bit of an outfit snippet from the day and really just to show off this amazing logo t-shirt which I actually made. Logo t-shirts are definitely in right now and their are so many to choose from in every shop you go in, but I decided I wanted to make some for myself. I bought some iron on letter's from Ebay and had a little t-shirt making night with my friends (I swear I am 24 years old). Sunday's call for basics, so pairing this tee with these trusty mom jeans from Zara and my Nike's was the natural choice. Any outfit that is comfy and casual is the perfect weekend attire.

I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday, remember and make time for the things that make you the happiest and enjoy!

Until next time, Lauren Rose xx

The Return Of The Trench

Spring see's the return of the Trench. The perfect spring jacket in the form the timeless trench coat. By teaming it with a simple shirt and some great denim jeans, the classic Mac style creates an effortless and minimal look.

Spring is in full swing and my wardrobe has definitely starting to transition. I have started to incorporate more Spring pieces into my wardrobe and the timeless trench is one of those key pieces for me, becoming staple in my wardrobe.

I have actually had this coat for over a year now and it is the perfect lightweight coat for Spring. It is from Stradivarius and they have the same one in this season if you would like to shop it here. Although I wish I could afford the Burberry version, this one will just have to suffice for now (we can all dream).

Pairing this coat with a casual pink shirt was the natural choice as I am really into pink at the moment. If you follow me on Instagram, you might know about my slight obsession with cherry blossom tree's, so I just had to get some outfit photo's in front of some. The sleeves on this top are also too cute, so I wanted to show them off. My leopard print bag is a newer addition to my bag collection and one I have been reaching for quite a lot recently. I then finished off the whole look with my biker boots and my fabulous sunglasses from Quay, that make me look a little too sassy for my own good.

How are you transitioning your wardrobe for Spring? Do you think you will buy into the trench coat trend?

Lady In Red

In the words of Miranda Priestly, 'Floral's for spring? Groundbreaking'. As far as spring trend's go, I know floral's are not exactly groundbreaking, but I do personally love it. When spring comes around and the shops start to fill with beautiful floral pieces, it makes me excited for the summer months. Here in London the sun has actually started shining, the nights are growing lighter and it was amazing to finally wear this little dress last weekend and .. wait for it.. not have to wear tights, what a true delight.

Not only is florals a huge trend for spring/summer, but red is the colour of the season. I don't know if you will have noticed from previous outfit post's on my blog, but I actually don't wear a lot of bold colour. Power red was seen everywhere during fashion month for Autumn 17 from the catwalks of Fendi to Victoria Beckham, as well as being prevalent across street style looks at the shows, sparking the new trend. My wardrobe is definitely full of a lot more muted tones at the moment and I really want to change that. I would like to try and incorporate more bright, bold colours like red into my wardrobe, especially as it get's into the summer. I think having key pieces in bold colours can really help incorporating more statement pieces into your outfit's and allows you to just have a little bit more fun with fashion.

The dress I am wearing is from H & M. Isn't it just so gorgeous? The v-neck is the absolute perfect cut and I love how it cinches in at the waist, making for the most flattering style. This dress is a truly a showstopper. The gorgeous red and pretty floral pattern makes it such a stand out piece and I am obsessed. I can already see this becoming a staple in my summer wardrobe, a dress that I know I can reach for as soon I see the sun is going to be shining.
I can't actually find it on their website, but they definitely still have it in stores. I have linked some similar ones below...

I wore this outfit for a lovely Saturday spent in London, meeting friends for cake and coffee at the beautiful cake shop that is Peggy Porschen, followed by a little bit of shopping, so I opted for some Nike white trainers to keep the look really simple and casual. I wanted to keep the focus all on the dress. I wore a leather jacket for some extra warmth, as it is not warm enough here to get away with no jacket quite yet. Since the dress is oh so very pretty and feminine, a leather jacket added a little bit of edge to the look with the contrast in style. This dress will look great with an oversized denim jacket in summer, which is definitely how I will be styling it next and I cannot wait to wear it again.

I am so happy with how these photo's came out and that is half to do with my fabulous flatmate/best friend Maddie who nailed the shot's as per (she is going to love that I gave her a mention).

I hope you enjoyed my first spring fashion post, lots more looks to come soon!

Until next time, Lauren Rose x
