Girly Skirts and Monochrome Stripes

Striped Crop Top - H&M (Similar)
White Sheer Stripe Midi Skirt - New Look
Lace Up Sandals - Topshop
Bag - Accessorize (Similar)
Leather Jacket - Miss Selfridge (Similar)
After my recent 'Style Thoughts' blog post I have been stepping out of my comfort zone a little bit more and embracing wearing things I have never really worn before. So far I have ticked off two new things - jumpsuits (blog post - here) and midi skirts. I love this skirt so much, the stripes add something extra to it and it is just such a fun and girly outfit. Teaming it with a leather jacket gives it more of a casual look, but I also thing this skirt would be really nice to dress up with a pretty top and some little heels.

I wore this monochrome outfit on a beautiful sunny Sunday in London spent with my mum. We started the day by heading to the Carsten Holler: Decision exhibition at The Southbank Centre, which was so good and so much fun. It is designed to be an interactive exhibition experience and we got to do things like walk around outside Southbank centre whilst wearing upside down glasses - it was sooo trippy and is very weird experience. We exited the exhibition by a metal spiral slide, watching my mum scream down it made my day haha (Sorry Mum)! It is really worth checking out if you are looking for something different to do in London. If you want to read more about this exhibition, Rosie Londoner did a full blog post on it here, she really captures the whole experience amazingly. We then had lunch and Pimm's in St Christopher's Place before finishing the afternoon off wandering around Selfridges. It was such a lovely day.

Do you like this look? How would you style a midi skirt?

Lush Cosmetics Haul & London Oxford Street Store plus Exclusive Products // Beauty // Lauren Rose

Last week in London, myself and my friend Hannah headed to the new Oxford Street Lush store after work. Oh My God. It is amazing. If you love Lush as much as I do, then you will literally be in heaven, LUSH HEAVEN, just imagine. Hugely spread across three floors, there is an unreal amount of products to look at, smell and even try out. There is such a lovely buzz in this store, from the customers to the staff, such a fun and friendly atmosphere. Come on in....

If you didn't know, the Lush Oxford Street Store has 240 exclusive products to shop only in this store, which I really think gives this store a special shopping experience. I found the staff super helpful at explaining what products were new and exclusive to this store - so definitely just ask them if you want to try something new and find out what products are actually the exclusive ones. They also explained to me what the different benefits of each face mask were, when I was deciding on one and even allowed us to try out the different bath bombs to see what effect they will have in the bath.

This was us trying the 'Experimenter Bath Bomb'. How absolutely, amazing does it look?

If you are ever in London, definitley head to this store for a browse/shop - you will not be disapointed I swear! I picked up a few little bits to try out, so I thought I would share them with you in this post too. I decided to go for a face mask, a bubble bar, a bath bomb and a bath oil...

'Flowers Barrow Bath Oil'  (Exclusive Product - Not Online)
"A delphinium flower melt with brambles, thyme, nettles. Let it go into the bath to create vibrant, lime green waters with geranium and rose oils"

I have actually never tried a bath oil from Lush before but thought this one sounded super relaxing and it looks so cute. I love the idea of having bath filled with petals, so I am excited to try this.

Lush Cosmetics Haul & London Oxford Street Store plus Exclusive Products // Beauty // Lauren Rose // Flowering Tea Bubble Bar
Flowering Tea Bubble Bar (Exclusive Product - Not Online)
"If fragrant, petal filled baths are your cup of tea, look no further! Hold this reusable bubble bar under the tap to fill water with a gorgeous mix of orange flower and jasmine"

To be honest, the sales assistant had me sold when she said this product was like a tea bag, I love tea and I knew I had to have this. She showed us how to use this product in the sink and recommended holding the tap for pressure until achieving the desired amount of bubbles. This product can be reused again and again and at the end there is a surprise, as the bundles of petals inside will release and fill the bath. This also smells insane.

Lush Cosmetics Haul & London Oxford Street Store plus Exclusive Products // Beauty // Lauren Rose // Intergalactic Bath Bomb
Intergalactic Bath Bomb (Exclusive Product - Online: Here)
'Ever wondered what bathing in deep space would be like? Invite the cosmos into your bathroom with this sexy, interstellar bomb and become guardian of your own galaxy. An awesome mix of refreshing peppermint and neon colour sends your mood rocketing, while popping candy takes you on a trip around the Milky Way. Constellations swirl and pop, creating vibrant lustre vortexes in the night sky. Before you leap too far, rogue layers of vetivert and cedarwood take hold, evoking the warmth of human contact far from home and a hint of 80s aftershave. Return from your intergalactic brief encounter as the grounding scent brings you gently back from orbit.'

WOW. How amazing does that sound. Similar to the Experimenter bath bomb, this is meant to fill your bath with swirls of different vibrant colours, inspired by the galaxy. I haven't tried this yet, but I am sure it will be as incredible as it sounds. You can also see a video on Lush's website of this product in action > Here

Lush Cosmetics Haul & London Oxford Street Store plus Exclusive Products // Beauty // Lauren Rose // Catastrophe Cosmetic Face Mask
Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask (Online: Here)
A calming and moisturising fresh face mask packed with blueberries, calamine and chamomile, rose and almond oils to soothe and soften the skin. We use wholesome blueberries as they are rich in vitamins and minerals, including the antioxidant vitamins A, C and E that help to protect the skin from damage. Smooth a generous layer of this mask onto clean skin and leave for 10-15 minutes.'

Living in London does not do good things for my skin. The muggy air, the dirty tubes, my skin needed some treatment. This product is designed to calm and cleanse the skin. Just what I was looking for and I have found it honestly amazing. I noticed instant results in my skin, it felt clean, healthier and exceptionally soft and overall left it feeling refreshed. 100% recommend! I can't stop using it.

Have you been to Lush's new Oxford Street store? Would you recommend any products?

Jump Into Monday

I thought I would jump right into Monday with a new blog post wearing this monochrome jumpsuit. I haven't posted in about 10 days and feeling slightly guilty about it, but I have been living and interning in London and been super busy at weekend's too that I just haven't had the time. London is certainly full speed ahead 24/7 - it can be exhausting but I love it!

Jumpsuit - F&F
Sandals - Topshop
Bag - Accessorize
Necklace - Miss Selfridge
My mum came down to London to visit last weekend, so I wore this for a fun filled Saturday in London, browsing Spitalfields market, doing a bit of shopping, eating cake and drinking tea before spending the evening visiting the Sky Garden (which was AMAZING - I have a post coming soon). I had never worn a jumpsuit before and after wearing this one, I am sold! They are the comfiest things ever and kind of feels like your wearing pyjama's, with the only flaw being you do have to basically strip naked to go to the loo. I have also been wearing it to work, as I find it the perfect throw on outfit for a Monday, as it involves minimal thought and effort and provides you with more time to stay bed and less time getting ready, franticly deciding what to wear. I wore my little lace up Topshop sandals that I live in as I am not sure what other shoes I would actually wear with this. Sandals work in summer but I am not sure how I would transition this outfit into winter - any tips welcome?!?

Have you worn a jumpsuit before? How do you style them?

Festival Tie Dye

With my Instagram being in-undated with photos from Wilderness festival over the weekend, my jealousy was high and it reminded me that I never blogged about my festival outfit I wore to T in the Park back in July (can summer slow down, how is it the 13th of August already?????).

Playsuit - Missguided
Boots - Office
Necklace - Ebay
I wore this Missguided tie dye plunge playsuit, which my mum actually sewed up a little bit, as it was just TOO plunging and booby haha. I love this playsuit, especially the tie dye print - it was so perfect for a festival. Missguided have such a huge range of beautiful playsuits for festivals/summer, so I have linked some some of my favourites below in a 'festival fashion' shop the look! I wore this amazing black fringed suede bag that I borrowed from my beautiful friend Becka, that was big enough for me to store all my festival essentials and even a rain coat. I then added a super bling coin necklace I got from Ebay > here, which I actually featured in my 'Current Favourites' blog post. I also ended up deciding to wear wellies to T in the Park before I left my house, as Scottish festivals are notorious for being rainy/muddy and it definitely lived up to the stereotype!

Do you like my festival playsuit look? What is your favourite playsuit from the above selection? I want them all!

Hope you are all having a lovely week! xx

Brunch At The Pavilion

Last weekend my friend Hannah, her cousin Gabriel and I headed out on a sunny Saturday morning in London for brunch. We went to The Pavilion in Victoria Park, which is a lovely little cafe next to the lake where you can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine whilst indulging in there amazing, delicious food.
'Pancakes with Mixed Fruit, Maple Syrup, Cream and Coconut'

'Avocado and Scrambled Eggs on Wholemeal Toast'
I wanted everything on their brunch menu and couldn't decide what to have, therefore Hannah and I decided to share. We ordered the pancakes of the day and also some avocado and scrambled eggs on wholemeal toast. They definitely tasted as good as they looked! The pancakes were incredible and so light and fluffy, drizzled in maple syrup and topped with peaches, banana and berries, some clotted cream and sprinkled in coconut. My mouth is literally melting writing this, I wish I was eating them again right now. The avocado and eggs on toast were equally as yummy, the avocado tasted like it has been made with lemon juice and the dish was topped with some form of spices (cannot for the life of me remember what / I had never heard of it before).

I think sharing a few dishes with your friend works out so well if you have never been before and want to try a few things on the menu. Additionally, our two choices were the perfect mixture of savoury and sweet for our tastebuds. The Pavilion also sell a variety of homemade fresh juices and iced tea/coffee. I had one of the super refreshing iced tea's and it was delicious.

I really recommend going here on the weekend. It is pretty busy, so you might have to wonder around looking for a table for a while, but the food was honestly outstanding so the wait is worth it.

Do you have any recommendations for brunch in London - I would love to try new places!
