Graduation Ball

Dress - Virgo's Lounge
Heels - Topshop
Clutch - Monsoon
Pearl Earrings - Accessorize

After graduating the other week I attended my Graduation Ball and had the best night ever with all my amazing and fabulous course-mates. It was such a fun way to end our University expereince together by giving speeches, dancing and getting a bit tipsy together. I know that we will all keep in touch, so it wasn't an emotional farewell but a happy send of celebrating our four years together. Our ball was at The Big Beach Ballroom, which was funnily enough next to the beach in Aberdeen, so we managed to get some nice scenic pictures. I thought I would share my outfit with you all (thanks Megan for the pictures).

I wore this amazing dress from Virgo's Lounge, which has the most beautiful detailing and embellishments around the neck and chest. I am so in love with this dress and need another formal occasion to wear it again ASAP. If you are ever looking for a fancy dress definitely have a look at the Virgo's Lounge website or they also sell them on ASOS, as they have such an amazing range of gorgeous formal dresses. I then wore my Topshop heels, some pearl earrings and a sparkly clutch from Monsoon, all bought for the occasion, to complete the look.

In other news, I am currently in London for four weeks interning at Monsoon/Accessorize in their press office. It was extremely last minute - I got the train down on sunday and started on Monday, but it is such a great opportunity for me and I am loving it! I am hoping to post some more lifestyle and food posts now I am in London, sort of 'what I did this weekend' posts - so we shall see :)

What do you think of my dress? Have you heard of Virgo's Lounge dresses before?

My Current Favourites

People tend to blog monthly favourites, however my favourite things don't tend to change so frequently as others it seems, therefore I have decided to just call this a 'current favourites' of things I have been loving recently.

Off The Shoulder Top's - I have been loving off the shoulder 'bardot' tops recently. I find them super flattering and have been wearing them a lot with high waisted skirts or jeans. I think they are perfect for summer. This white one is from Primark and I have a few other ones from their, as well as one from Miss Selfridge

Catwalk by Tigi 'Fashionista' Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner - I am obsessed with this Shampoo and Conditioner set. I have been using them for the past 6 months and find they really work at holding the colour of my hair after I have dyed it, as well as making my hair so soft, silky smooth and shiny. I normally use this every 3 or 4 days and I really notice the difference in condition and colour of my hair after I use it. The hair mask from this collection is also amazing - I tend to use that every couple of weeks if I feel my hair is starting to fade a little.

Palmers Cocoa Butter 'Natural Bronze' Body Lotion (Gradual Tanning Moisturiser) - This product has totally changed my tanning routine. I want to thank my friends Suzy and Erica for introducing this into my life because it is a game changer. I used to be St Tropez loyal and I do feel like I am cheating on them a bit, but this is so much easier. It is a gradual tanner, but the colour it leaves is honestly amazing and it never goes patchy even when it starts to fade. I usually apply it for a few consecutive nights and that will last me over a week, which is pretty good! I also love the cocoa butter smell of this product. It is definitely better than smelling like biscuits (classic fake tan smell - haha).

Silver Coin Statement Necklace - I had been looking for a bit of a bling necklace like this for a while and found this one on Ebay > here. I wore it to T in the Park the other week, as I thought it was the perfect necklace for a boho festival look and I just love how it looks, I think its so cool. Silver is actually my favourite type of jewellery so I will be wearing this a lot.

Polaroid's - I have been really loving taking polaroid photos recently. I got a polaroid camera for my birthday in February and have now racked up quite a little collection of pictures now. I am hoping to find some black and white film for my camera next as I think it gives them a cool effect.

Cactus' - Plants that need minimal attention and care. Best. Kind. Of. Plant. Ever. I got this one from ikea in a pack of 3 and have them dotted around my room and I think they just look so cute.

Humans - I am not into that many TV programmes, Breaking Bad and Pretty Little Liars are the only series I really follow but I started watching Humans recently. The series is sort of based around technology, our reliability on it and how it effects modern life. It is a programme about robots or 'synths' who look and act exactly like humans, they live in people's house and are basically their servants. Very odd, but very interesting and I am really enjoying it. It is mainly set around one family but there are maybe 3 or 4 other main 'synths' and households it follows and how the synth's are effecting their life's. It is kind of creepy and every time an episode ends I can't wait until next weeks. I really recommend watching it. You can watch it on 4OD here

I Am A Graduate!

After 4 years of hard work, I am pleased to say I am now a graduate! I am absolutely thrilled to have achieved a first class honours degree in a Fashion Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. From the moment I got my results, not only did I feel relief that all my hard work had paid of but I felt a huge sense of achievement in myself that I had accomplished my goal. I am so proud of myself and all my friends who have also managed to achieve such amazing degrees. I have loved seeing all my friends and people throughout my year at university so happy with there results and at graduation, seeing everyones parents beaming with pride that they're children have been so successful at university, it really is a special and amazing time for us all.

The day itself started off early, rising at 7.30am and I wasn't surprised to see it was raining in Scotland. Luckily it went off by the time we headed out the door to the ceremony.

What I Wore -----
I wore this lovely little black dress from River Island. I loved how it had mesh detailing around the centre, just adding something a bit different to a simple dress. The top is actually detachable from the midi dress, which I thought was really cool as I can wear the dress again on a night out with just little spaghetti straps. I then wore my new shoes that I am in love with that I got especially for graduation. I blogged about them before here so I wont rave about them too much but I think they are the most beautiful shoes ever and I got so many complements on the day.
I then popped my gown and hat on before jumping in the car to go to the theatre. I felt so nervous about the day at this point, especially about having to walk on stage to collect my diploma.
Luckily the ceremony went well and nobody fell on stage - phew! I actually found it so fun all going up to collect our degree's, it was such a weird feeling. The ceremony only lasted an hour, which seemed pretty short to me? Afterwards everyone and their families piled out of the theatre to share congratulations and excitement before my family proceeded to take about 3 million pictures of me haha.

It was then time for some hat throwing snaps...

I am so grateful to have spent the day graduating with my amazing course mates and boyfriend who have been with me for my whole 4 year university experience, as well as share the day with my family, who have been my biggest support. I am so thankful for having them with me every step of the way, financially and emotionally.

I am also so lucky to have thoroughly enjoyed my whole university experience. I loved my course and we had the most amazing lecturers that really made our course what it is, always going that extra mile to help, encourage and support us the best way they can. My fashion management course included a mix of creative subjects and business related subjects, giving us the best of both worlds. Additionally, I want to thank the 'A-team' for my University experience would have not been the same without them. Not only have I made great friends in each and every one of them but they made every day so special, fun and enjoyable as well as always providing constant motivation and support for one another, encouraging us all to push ourselves academically.

I have met so many amazing people throughout my time in Aberdeen and I would love to give my congratulations to all my friends and everyone else who graduated last week, as it is such a great achievement that we should all celebrate. A special mention to my amazing girlies - Rachael, Hayley and Hailey who have been the best of friends to me throughout the past four years together at University. We have shared so many amazing memories together and I am so proud of you all graduating. I love seeing you all so happy and who would have thought of us wild gals back in first year would grow up into such fine women haha - we did it!!

I wish everyone who graduated luck in the future and hope you all get the job you have dreamed of.

Go For Gold

Barry M Gold Nail Paint in 242
On Friday I attended my graduation ball and had the best night ever. Not only did I enjoy the night but I always enjoy the preparations and pampering leading up to a big night. From face masks, to bubble baths to self tanning, I mean what girl doesn't love a good pamper session. When it came to the choice of what colour to paint my nails, I decided to go for gold. I was going to get acrylics done but I ran out of time so thought I would just do them myself. My dress was black with gold and emerald green embellishment (I have a blog post on my outfit coming soon), so gold seemed the most appropriate colour option for the night. I love a gold nail, it is such a glamorous colour, but it is not often enough that a time fitting comes along to wear it, as it is definitely suited for evening looks. This Barry M one incorporates a bit of shimmer into the nail varnish, it gives it a glittery look without the hassle of removing glitter nail varnish. Barry M nail varnishes in general are my favourite with most of my nail varnishes being from there. The consistency is great and their super affordable (£2.99 for this one, bargain!). I did apply two coats on my nails just to make the colour bolder, as well as using a No7 base coat and top coat to prevent chipping and they are still looking amazing now!

Do you like this nail look? Do you love Barry M nail varnishes as much as me?

Sunshine Yellow // Holiday Outfit

Crochet Crop Top - Ebay
Lace Shorts - H&M
Gladiator Sandals - Topshop
Sunglasses - Quay Australia (similar)
Necklace - Brandy Melville
Bag - Primark
This is my final holiday outfit post from Croatia and it might be my favourite. I wore this outfit when we went for a stroll round the town in Hvar, browsing the market stalls and going for a lovely lunch, as it was slightly overcast on this day. I am loving how crochet is in for summer and I actually got this crop top from ebay for £3 or something ridiculously cheap. I don't wear yellow that much but when I do I love it, it is the perfect summer colour. I think it goes really nicely with these white shorts and my Topshop sandals that I can't seem to take off my feet right now. I am also wearing my favourite sunglasses ever from Quay Australia. If you haven't heard of the brand, definitely check out the website and have a look because they are all amazing and their Shay Mitchell collaboration is a dream - I wish I had them all!

I am sad that my holiday outfit post's are now over. I have more of a travel post on my holiday in Croatia going up this Sunday, then the reminiscing will truly be over. If you are interested you can visit my other holiday outfit posts here >> 'Croatian Jewels', 'Poolside Snaps' and 'Tropical Prints' :)

Do you like this outfit? Are you loving the crochet trend for summer too?

Quick and Easy Homemade Iced Tea

As the UK are experience a rare heatwave, I have been basking in the sun as much as possible. Scotland do not have as much sun as England are experiencing but it has been nice and warm, enough for me to sit outside in the garden in shorts and a t-shirt anyway. Today it is around 20 degree's here and it feels hot! So with all this sun, I thought I would share this delicious homemade iced tea recipe that will help you cool down. My boyfriend made it yesterday (credit to him for the recipe) and it was very refreshing, so I decided to make it today for my mum and I. It is very easy to make and there are minimal ingredients which is a plus!

You will need:

  • 1 lemon
  • Teabags
  • Sugar
  • Lemonade
  • Water
  • Ice

1. Place 2 teabags in a jug, boil the kettle and fill the jug halfway with hot water, let the tea bags soak in the water for 2 minutes before removing.
2. Squeeze the juice of one lemon in the jug before adding 4 teaspoons of sugar and 1 can of             lemonade.
3. Mix all ingredients in the jug and place in the fridge for 1 hour.
4. Remove the jug from the fridge and if you want you can sieve the juice to get rid of any bits from the lemon.
5. Fill your glass with ice before pouring in the juice.

New In: Shoes

Oh my god. What more can I say apart from these are probably the most beautiful shoes I have ever owned.

With my graduation ceremony and ball coming up in the next few weeks, my mum and I headed through to Edinburgh on a unsurprisingly rainy day in Scotland on the hunt for shoes. The second shop we headed into was Kurt Geiger and like most other shops just now, they had a sale on - woohoo. I think I tried on about 5 different pairs and there were two that stood out to me. These leopard print pointed court heels and these pink pointed court heels. I wanted shoes with a small heel (not quite a kitten heel don't worry), as I do not want to do a 'Lizzie McGuire' and fall on stage whilst getting my degree haha.

I fell in love with both pairs of shoes, so it was such a hard decision to pick. The pink ones were the most comfortable shoes I have ever tried on and I thought they would be such a nice pop of colour since I am wearing a black dress and a black graduation gown. However, I felt like these leopard print babies were more fitted for the occasion, I am obsessed with leopard print and they are also definitely in the statement shoe category so excitedly I chose them. I cannot wait to wear them!

If you are on the hunt for some new shoes definitely have a look on Kurt Geiger - there sale is amazing.

What do you think of these shoes? Do you think I went for the right pair?
