Orange and Ginger Christmas Biscuits

Today I thought I would share a little festive biscuit recipe which can be wrapped up all pretty and given as little extra gifts around the festive season, as Christmas is all about giving! This recipe is super quick and easy to make, with few ingredients making it easy to whip up a batch last minute...

Ingredients
  • 175g plain flour
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 100g butter
  • 50g golden caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • For the topping: White Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and festive sprinkles

Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / gas mark 4 (You can do this at stage 4)
  2. Mix the flour, ginger, zest, butter with 1/2 tsp of salt until the mixture turns to fine crumbs. You can either do this in a food processor or if you are like me and do not have one, you can just use your hands.
  3. Mix in the sugar and milk, before placing the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.
  4. Wrap the dough in clingfilm and pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the dough from the fridge and flour the work surface again. Roll the dough out until it is roughly the thickness of a £1 coin. Use whatever Christmas themed biscuit cutters you like to cut out the shapes for your biscuits.
  6. Grease two baking trays and place all the biscuits onto the tray before a baking in the oven for 15-20 until the biscuits turn golden brown.
  7. Leave your biscuits to cool and then you can decorate however you wish. I melted white and dark chocolate and drizzled both over the top of all the biscuits before adding snowflake sprinkles as an extra festive touch.
  8. Enjoy!

These biscuits are super yummy, everyone who has tried them has given them praise. The subtle ginger taste and orange zest comes through just enough to taste, but it is not too overpowering. I got these little snowflake bags and ribbon from Poundland and wrapped up a stack of stars as a little present - I think they look so cute!

Do you like the sound of these biscuits? Do you think you might try out this recipe?

It is only 2 days until Christmas now, so if you are reading this I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas - have the best day, spending time with family, eating the best food and getting a little tipsy.

Skirt - Forever 21
Blouse - ASOS
Scarf - Accessorize
Boots - ASOS
Leather Jacket - Miss Selfridge

Last Saturday I went for brunch and a stroll in Notting Hill, followed by a day full of Christmas shopping with my friend Suzy. I love the aesthetic of all the houses and streets in Notting Hill, they are so white and pretty. It is nice to just have a wander around and nosey at people's amazing houses. House goals.

I wore a little cord black staple skirt from Forever 21 and a cute lace insert blouse from ASOS. You can't really see how pretty this top actually is in these photos, but you can see it better on the Asos website here. It was a bit of a brisk day, so a cosy fur scarf was necessary. I love this scarf from Accessorize, it is my favourite colour ever and it is super soft. I love throwing it on with a monochrome outfit to add some colour.

I then wore my new booties from ASOS. How amazing are they? They are just so incredible. Pointy, Monochrome and Snakeskin. Need I say more. They make me feel super glam when I wear them and I like to sing 'Hey I got my new shoes on and suddenly everything feels right' when I wear them. OBSESSED.

I also uploaded a new video on my Youtube channel on Sunday. It is an Autumn / Winter Fashion Haul if you are interested in having a watch to see what I have been buying in the past couple of months. You can - click here - to watch! :)

What do you think of my new boots? Do you love them as much as I do?

Victoria Park

I love London. I love living in London. But sometimes it's nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and reside in Victoria Park for the afternoon. Hire a bike, roll in the Autumn leaves and relax.

Winter Whites

Faux Fur Coat - Topshop (similar)
Roll Neck Top - River Island
Skirt - New Look
Boots - Office (Similar)
Bag - Accessorize
I wore this outfit yesterday when I went out for brunch with my flatmate Maddie, who very kindly took these photo's for me. It was a bitter morning. This weekend has definitely brought the beginning of winter weather and it is absolutely freezing in London. I decided it was time to crack out the faux fur coats. I love a good fur coat. Not only are they the cosiest things ever in winter, but I feel like they make you look glam, no matter what else you are wearing. This white one from Topshop is the absolutely dream and it is so incredibly soft. It is actually my flatmate Joanna's, she has an entire rail of fur coats - how handy for me to borrow haha!

I wore this River Island roll neck to give a white on white look which I personally love. I know I always wear roll neck tops. It is an obsession. I can't help it. I decided to wear this leopard print skirt to break up the soft whites and give the outfit a bit more of an edge. This is probably my most worn skirt right now. It is one of those staple pieces in my wardrobe that I find easy to throw on with any colour of top and it works. I pulled the outfit together with some thick wooly tights and my black boots. A simple, cute little outfit for a casual weekend look.

Autumn Hues

Jumper - Boohoo
Suede Skirt - Stradivarius
Sleeveless Coat - New Look
Boots - River Island
Last Sunday I headed to Victoria Park for a lovely brunch at the Pavilion followed by a relaxing Autumn walk with Vicky and Hannah. The perfect Sunday. I love Victoria Park. I literally go every weekend because it kind of feels like an escape from the city. I especially like it right now, as it is so autumnal, all the leaves have turned orange and are falling from the trees, making the park look beautiful.

My mum got me this real suede, button up skirt when she was on holiday in Spain recently, it is from Stradivarius and I love it. I have been wearing it a lot, it just goes with so many things and has turned into a bit of a wardrobe staple. I wore it with this striped, cropped jumper I got from Boohoo and my little brown boots from River Island. I realise now that this outfit is very brown, but I liked it - shout out to the A-team for managing to wear an entire brown outfit. It was a super foggy, crisp, chilly day and this outfit was perfect for the colder weather. I did have a big scarf that I threw on whilst having brunch though, as we sat outside.

Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday, I may be going for another walk around Victoria Park with my flatmates this afternoon. I am honestly obsessed.

Are you loving Autumn as much as me? What do you think of this outfit?
