Autumn Series - The Perfect Autumn Lip

Mac Lipstick - Rebel
Mac Lipliner - Currant

The Mac 'Rebel' lipstick is a deep, berry colour and is my favourite kind of lip colour to wear in Autumn. When teaming it with the Mac 'Currant' lipliner, it creates the perfect evening lip for this time of year. I have been wearing it on nights out recently and totally loving the look! The lipliner is darker than the lipstick, so I have been blending the lipliner into the lipstick to create a darker lip shade.

What is your favourite Autumn lip look?

Autumn Series - My Favourite Fall Candles

I have a major candle obsession. I swear between my flatmate and I we have enough candles to heat and light our entire flat! So I thought I would share some of my favourite autumn candles that I have been burning in my flat, to chill and make it feel more cosy. Pre-warning- they are obviously all either pumpkin or salted caramel scented, classic white girl.

The two large pumpkin scented candles are both from Tk-Maxx, the one on the left is called 'Pumpkin Patch' and is a very, very sweet scented candle. This will be too sweet for a lot of people, but I am a sweet scented candle gal, so I love it. Sometimes I like to just sit and smell it because it is that amazing. I also like to force other people to smell it when they come to my flat to share the amazingness. Whereas the 'spiced pumpkin' candle in the middle smells a lot more autumnal due to the spices, it literally smells like fall. My flatmate actually got me this candle and I've been enjoying burning this one in my room a lot recently, it's a very homely scent.

The Yankee Candle 'Salted Caramel' is my second favourite candle of all time. I burn this at anytime of the year as it is just so incredible and I really like it as a bath time candle. I love the smell of salted caramel, it is such an indulgent smell. I am actually running out of this candle, so will be picking up another next payday!

Last but not least, the two cute little candles with the metal detailed lids were a gift from my friend, who brought them back from America - what a babe. They are from Bath & Body Works and it made me super excited because I have always wanted a candle from there! One is called 'Pumkin Cupcake', which probably smells the most like pumpkin out of all my pumpkin candles and has the perfect amount of sweetness to the scent. The other is called 'Caramel Pumpkin Swirl' which basically mixes salted caramel and pumpkin scented candles into one. My idea of perfection.

It's very hard to write about candles because all I ever want to say is 'It smells amazing' and 'I love this candle' haha.
But they literally are all are amazing...

What are your favourite candles for Autumn?

Autumn University OOTD

Temperatures in Scotland have dropped and that can only mean one thing.... Autumn has arrived! Autumn is my favourite season of the year, I get a slight bit obsessed with it. I love layering clothes, wearing winter jackets and big chunky knits. <3  In other news, I have just started my final year of University (eeeep scary) and I thought I would rope in my friend to take some pictures of what I wore to Uni one day last week. So here is a University OOTD :)

Poncho/Cape - Next (Similar Here)
Scarf - Accessorize
Roll neck jumper - Primark
Leather Skirt - New Look
Boots - River Island
Backpack - New Look

I have not worn a backpack since I was about 11, but as they have came back in fashion - and are extremely practical for carrying a lot of heavy uni work and laptop and gym clothes - I thought I would get one and it was the best decision! I can't believe I manage to cram so much stuff in this bag, as it isn't the biggest backpack and in hindsight I probably would have gone for a larger one to fit even more stuff into it. I love the colour block and it's a bit more interesting and maybe more fashionable than your standard buckle fastening style.

I got this black poncho/cape about two years in the Next Christmas sale and have never worn it. I found it in the back of my wardrobe and thought I should probably give it a shot. I teamed it with a big chunky scarf over the top and I love it so much more than I thought I would. I will definitely not be putting it back in my wardrobe unused for another two years. It is the perfect item to wear just now when it's not yet cold enough to wear a big cosy jacket. It is also super easy to throw on and off between lectures (and can also double as a blanket in cold lecture rooms).

I am wearing my new River Island boots, which I got recently when River Island were doing 20% off for students WIN. I actually love them and it's so nice to wear a boot that is not black all the time. I think they are the perfect autumnal boots.

I am thinking of doing more 'University OOTD's - what do you think?

Autumn Series : My Fall Essentials

I have decided to do a little mini series of blog post with my favourite things this autumn every Thursday for the rest of the month because autumn is my favourite season and I do love a good themed post :)

The Essentials:

1. Chunky scarfsNow the summer weather has left us I was very much in need of a new big chunky knitted scarf and got This Scarf from Accessorize which I love!

2. Pumpkin Scented Candles I don't know what would get you more in the mood for Halloween than this? It smells incredible. I got it from Tk-Maxx last year and saved it to use again this year. I actually have a post that shares more of my favourite autumn candles coming up later in the month. I have a candle obsession.

3. Gold Jewellery : Simplicity is key this autumn for jewellery and gold is definitely in. This Torq-style Collar Necklace does the job perfectly!

4. Statement Lips : The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 'Audacious' is a bright orange colour, which is such a lovely shade and is going nicely with my monochrome wardrobe. The other is a dark purple lipstick from Kiko in '914' one which is perfect for days when your feeling a bit daring (maybe Halloween time) and also looks fab for night outs.

5. Hot Drinks : Now i don't like coffee ( I know who even am I? ), but I LOVE tea and hot chocolate and chai tea and I am so excited that its this time of year that Costa and Starbucks will bring in their winter themed drinks. I am most excited for the salted caramel hot chocolates. What is your favourite autumn/winter drink?

Healthy Blueberry Muffins | Baking

A bit of a different post today, but I love baking and I recently made the most amazing Blueberry Muffins that I just couldn't not share. The recipe was inspired by a vegan recipe taken from Bake Rita, however I kind of adapted it to suit me, for example I used milk instead of soya milk. As I used milk they aren't actually vegan, but it doesn't use butter or eggs and is still meant to be healthier than normal. I also changed the measurements slightly, as I used grams rather than cups. This is one of the best things about baking (apart from eating the end product) that you can adapt and tailor recipes to suit you.
They turned out amazing and were honestly the best muffins I have ever made, they were so moist and yummy!

My Recipe:

  • 190 grams flour
  • 50 grams brown sugar
  • 90 grams white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons bicarbonate soda
  • 30 grams vegetable oil
  • 1 banana (mashed)
  • 100 grams blueberry's (I used frozen ones)
  • 150 ml milk

- Set fan assisted oven to 200'c

- Mix all ingredients together in one big bowl, adding the blueberry's last

- Place in the centre of your oven for 20/25 minutes

Enjoy :)
